In April, the Beinecke Library was the canvas for Lux: Ideas through Light, an exhibition designed to “engage with ideas being generated every day at the university,” says Asher Young ’17, who curated the show with Eli Block ’16 and Douglas Streat ’16. Artists and designers worked with faculty members to produce projects on subjects ranging from nanoparticles to Noh theater. (The images shown here—from Yale’s Instagram feed—were projected between segments.) “We expected people to just stop for a moment when they were passing through,” says Young, “but to our pleasant surprise people actually sat down to watch the entire two-hour show.”
