Yale Latino Reunion

October 16, 2015 — October 18, 2015
New Haven, CT

Yale Latino Reunion takes place October 16-18, 2015 and will feature internationally recognized artists including Yale Alumni and Students, Hermelindo Ruiz, Composer Guitarist and Meechot Marrero, vocalist; Mayda Del Valle, Spoken Word National Slam Poetry Champion; the Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra; and Los Villalobos Brothers joining our student performers.

Weekend theme: Reconnect with each other, Reflect on the significance of our unique community, and Realize our place within the 45 years of the "recognized presence" of Latinos at Yale.

An elegant backdrop is set for a weekend of receptions, interactive workshops, Noche Dorada dinner-dance at Commons, and Café con YLAA Sunday event featuring how we have grown as an established community and organization.

Details including plenary and key note speakers; networking opportunities; mentor - mentee greet and meets; scheduled workshops on the music of Danza; trying your hand at spoken word poetry; understanding our unintended biases; and being guided through provocative discussions in all manner of Socratic discourse, are forthcoming. We hope you will take a look, help us spread the word, register yourselves, consider sponsoring a student, and prepare to be dazzled by another unique reunion experience.
