There are mountains, ships, and a glacier named for Yale, and right now, a living tribute to the university is swimming around in the Pacific Ocean. On January 15, a rescue group called Sea Turtles 911 released two rehabilitated green sea turtles into the South China Sea—turtles named “Yale” and “Harvard” by student volunteers from Hainan Normal University. US Ambassador to China Max Baucus (left) helped send Yale on her way. She and Harvard carry tracking devices so their movements can be monitored for conservation purposes.
