The Yale Law School Association of New England invites you and your guests to a reception and informal discussion with Yale Law School and Yale School of Management Professor Ian Ayres '81 B.A., '86 J.D. Join us at Community Catalyst in downtown Boston for drinks and heavy hors d’oeuvres starting at 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 8. Our reception will be followed by Ian's talk, "Libertarian Gun Control and Voluntary Taxation."

"Libertarian gun control" and "voluntary taxation" seem like oxymorons. Gun control laws are inherently anti-libertarian, and very few people would volunteer to pay taxes. But in this lecture Professor Ayres will argue that freedom-enhancing government policies can be adopted that might save hundreds of gun deaths a year and induce millions of Americans to volunteer to pay additional taxes.
