Bobby Jindal served two terms as the Governor of Louisiana from 2008 to 2016. He was the first Indian American governor in United States history and a candidate for the Republican nomination in the 2016 presidential election.  Jindal served as Chairman of the Republican Governor’s Association, and he previously served two terms in Congress, Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services under President George W. Bush, Secretary of Department of Health and Hospitals in Louisiana, and as the youngest president in the history of the University of Louisiana System.
