Press has dressed Yale men from its home at 262 York Street since 1902. But a year after structural damage from Winter Storm Nemo forced it to move out, the store will demolish its historic York Street building. J. Press intended to renovate the mid-nineteenth-century townhouse “bottom to top,” store manager Jim Fitzgerald said last February. But on closer inspection, the company and City Hall determined that it has to come down. The store, now in temporary quarters on College Street, will rebuild on the York Street site.
