What made you decide to apply to SOM?
When the pandemic hit, and I was sort of stuck at home, I kept trying to figure out what it was that I wanted to do next, and I kept coming back to education. But I wasn't really sure what that was going to look like. So I wanted to go back to school to be able to make that pivot, because I didn't think I was going to be able to make the jump directly into education. I thought the MBA would help me build my leadership skills, build a network that could help me connect to people in the education space, and just do a reset on my life that would help me make that transition into education.

Over the summers, were you doing internships and fellowships related to education?
Last year, I worked at the education consulting firm that I'm going to be working at full time. It’s called Bellwether. I was a summer fellow in their strategic advising practice. I worked on a project with a nonprofit, where we were helping the organization better tailor their programming to the communities that they work in—rather than having a very standardized set of programming: basically, how to better understand and apply the unique needs and assets that the communities have to the programming that they can offer.
