Alumni firm wins MoMA competition

Jennifer Newsom ’01, ’05MArch, and Tom Carruthers ’05MArch, cofounders of Minneapolis-based architecture firm Dream the Combine, have been selected as winners of the 2018 MoMA PS1 Young Architects Program. Newsom and Carruthers will construct their design for a temporary pavilion—an immersive mirrored environment entitled “Hide & Seek”—in the courtyard of MoMA PS1 to serve as the centerpiece for the museum’s Summer Warm Up event series. Practices founded by faculty members Brennan Buck and Jesse LeCavalier were also finalists in the competition.

Alumni at AIA conference

Alumni of the School of Architecture and the Yale College architecture major will reunite in New York on June 21 at an alumni event coinciding with the 2018 American Institute of Architects Conference on Architecture. The event will be hosted by Elisabeth Martin ’83MArch and Michael Duddy ’85MArch.
