New faculty arrive for fall semester

The School of Music welcomed five new faculty members at the beginning of the fall 2021 semester. Albert Lee joined the faculty and the administration as associate professor of music adjunct and director of equity, belonging, and student life. Violinists Augustin Hadelich and Tai Murray joined the school’s string faculty. Hadelich is teaching four students and giving master classes for all School of Music string players; and Murray—as full-time assistant professor adjunct of violin—has a full studio and is also coaching chamber music. The Yale Opera program, too, has new faces. Mark Lawson and J. J. Penna, both pianists, are coaching voice students in the program.
