Healthy Neighbors Day

Student volunteers from the School of Nursing organized a “Healthy Neighbors Day” September 8 for the school’s neighbors in the Church Street South apartments. The event featured free blood pressure and diabetes screenings, nutritional counseling, science and anatomy lessons, activities for children and families, and refreshments. More than 120 people attended. New Haven native and nursing student Everol Ennis, one of the organizers of the event, saw it as an opportunity to strengthen relationships with the New Haven community: “Good health and good neighbors are so important.”
