Dean of undergraduate admissions reappointed
Jeremiah Quinlan ’03 has been reappointed dean of undergraduate admissions and financial aid for a second, five-year term that extends to June 30, 2023. Quinlan has recruited two of the largest classes in Yale College history and increased the percentage of students who accept Yale’s offer of admission. He has augmented support for undergraduates through his advocacy for significant financial aid policy changes for low-income students and the creation of a distinct Office of Undergraduate Financial Aid, which can devote full attention to Yale College student needs.
Alumnus gift will help renovate Yale Peabody Museum
Yale announced in August a contribution of $160 million by Edward P. Bass ’67 toward the renovation of the Peabody Museum of Natural History. The landmark commitment ranks among the most generous gifts to Yale and is the largest known gift ever made to a natural history museum in the United States. Bass’s contribution will help to fund the renewal and expansion of the acclaimed museum, which has operated in its current location for over 90 years.
