Summer Academy at GSAS expands offerings

Established by the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences in 2024, the Yale Summer Academy offers graduate students the opportunity to enroll in short courses designed to help students develop key professional skills and prepare for the job search during the summer months. Each course consists of four two-hour sessions. Last summer, 86 graduate students participated in courses covering data science skills, AI for teaching and research, and strategies for job searching in both academic and nonacademic sectors. Additionally, a dozen students engaged in a six-week dissertation-writing bootcamp aimed at jump-starting the writing process. The Graduate School plans to expand both the course selection and student engagement this summer.
