Faculty promoted, appointed
Lileana Blain-Cruz ’12MFA, who has taught at the School of Drama since 2018, has been appointed a full-time lecturer in the design department and a resident director at Yale Repertory Theatre. Alan C. Edwards ’11MFA, who has taught at the school since 2016, has been appointed a full-time lecturer in the design department and the lighting design advisor at Yale Rep. Alan Hendrickson ’83MFA has been named the Henry McCormick Professor in the Practice of Technical Design and Production. Riccardo Hernandez ’92MFA has been promoted to associate professor adjunct in design and continues in his role as set design advisor at Yale Repertory Theatre. Gregory Wallace ’87MFA, who has taught at the school since 2016, has been named the Lloyd Richards Professor in the Practice of Acting. Michael Yeargan ’73MFA, cochair of the design department, has been named the Donald M. Oenslager Professor in the Practice of Design.
Nicole Brewer, Colman Domingo, and Austin Durant ’10MFA have been appointed lecturers in the acting department; Ty Defoe, Emily Tappan, and Joshua Weisberg have been appointed lecturers in design; Branden Jacobs-Jenkins has been appointed visiting associate professor in the practice of playwriting; Nicola Rossini ’07MFA returns as a lecturer in technical design and production; and Florie Seery, who began her tenure as associate dean of the school and managing director of Yale Rep, is an assistant professor adjunct in theater management.
