A trip from Yale to the Metropolitan Opera just got a lot easier—and infinitely cheaper. The Met is offering live, high-definition broadcasts of this season’s 12 productions to movie theaters and other venues around the world. Thanks to a gift from Frederick Iseman ’74, screenings at Sprague Hall are free to the Yale community. The gift also funds 200 tickets for area high school students to watch the performances at a local movie theater. The season kicked off on October 9 with Wagner’s Das Rheingold;the performers included two Yale alumni, Tamara Mumford ’04Mus and Adam Diegel ’07Mus, who sang Flosshilde and Froh.
