Our last issue reported on a campus cliffhanger: Yale president Richard Levin ’74PhD was one of three candidates President Obama was considering to replace (former Harvard president) Larry Summers as director of the National Economic Council. The job would have required Levin to leave Yale after 17 years as president. Levin was not chosen for the job. In a statement, Levin called Sperling "a terrific choice."
