Fast-talking Yalies have always appealed to librarians at semester’s end, seeking clemency for lost or overdue books. (Or so we hear. We would never do that.) This year, the library made it official: the miscreants who offered the most creative excuses would have their fines waived. Here are some of the staff’s favorites.
