A campus drum group called Blue Feather sang an original “honor song” at the November 8 dedication of the university’s Native American Cultural Center at 26 High Street. (Until this fall, the center shared space with the Asian American Cultural Center.) The dedication was held in conjunction with a conference on Native American history and education. President Peter Salovey ’86PhD spoke at the event, as did several students and alumni. Freshman Nicota Stevenson, a Hupa tribe member from Duvall, Washington, said the NACC has been like “a second home” for him. “It’s been a huge blessing, and I couldn’t be happier.”
