Yale lacrosse alums celebrate their role in the largest IPO in history.

Amid the hoopla surrounding the initial public offering of stock in the Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba—at $25 billion, the largest IPO in history—two of the company’s top officials paused outside the New York Stock Exchange for a photo in tribute to their shared history at Yale. Joe Tsai ’86, ’90JD (right), is Alibaba’s vice chair, and Tim Steinert ’82 is its general counsel and corporate secretary. They both played lacrosse at Yale before channeling that competitive spirit into global business.
