Last spring, Robert Wallace ’02 became the chief investment officer (CIO) at Stanford, assuming oversight of the nation’s fourth-largest university endowment. While Wallace may be the only major endowment manager who is a former professional ballet dancer, he has something else in common with several of his counterparts: he once worked in the Yale Investments Office for celebrated money managers David Swensen ’80PhD and Dean Takahashi ’80, ’83MPPM. As shown here, ten Yale Investments alumni are now CIOs at university and foundation endowments with a total value of nearly $79 billion.
