In September, Yale received approval from the city of New Haven to build a new interdisciplinary science building on the site of the Gibbs Laboratory. The seven-story building (left), designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli of New Haven and Stantec of Hamden, will include a 500-seat lecture hall, laboratories for varied scientific departments, and a rooftop greenhouse. The building will cost more than $200 million (we erroneously reported the total as $70 million in an earlier issue). It is scheduled for completion in 2019.
