Robbie Short ’19/Yale Daily NewsView full imageTwo lions danced down Whitney Avenue on February 4 to usher in good luck and kick off this year’s New Haven Lunarfest celebration. Parade-goers were invited to “feed the lions tips in red envelopes,” says Annie Lin ’09, who manages arts events at the Yale-China Association. As you feed the lion, she explains, “you wish something auspicious for yourself or your business.” Organized jointly by Yale-China, the New Haven Museum, and Yale’s Council on East Asian Studies, the daylong event offered Chinese arts and crafts, classes in tai chi, Chinese festival foods, and other attractions. Hundreds of people turned out to welcome the Year of the Rooster.
