Scene on Campus

The frozen chosen

What a divinity student does in a snowstorm.

Divinity School student Josh Huber ’22MDiv, shown here making twelve snowy apostles, laughed when we asked what had spurred him to it. “Inspiration,” he said. “I figured I would put together the Last Supper. It would give me a good reason to build a lot of snowmen.” And so, in the quiet of a campus on winter break, several weeks before undergraduates were scheduled to return, he arranged a very chilly Last Supper on one of the low walls near the Beinecke Library.

“They were everything I wanted from them,” says Huber. However, “they melted very quickly.”

Photographer Bob Handelman shot several campus snow scenes for us on that January day. Click the slideshow above for more.
