Light & VerityMobile, homeA familiar Calder sculpture in new environs. Generations of Yalies remember the 1960 Alexander Calder mobile—Gallows and Lollipops —as the sculpture that brightened the otherwise colorless Beinecke Plaza, where it was installed in 1976. Last fall, the piece was moved to a new spot: it’s now the centerpiece of the Art Gallery’s reinstalled sculpture garden. Here it can talk shop with a colorful neighbor, David Smith’s 1963 work Bec-dida-day.
