Hundreds of attendees danced to the music of DJ VNA (shown here) at the Yale
College annual Spring Fling on Old Campus this April. VNA’s set came after two
student bands, Seldom Street and Strictly Platonic. When she was done—to much applause—the professional performers took the stage: DJ duo Coco and Breezy, opening band Dayglow, and headliner Swae Lee. “It was amazing,” says the talent chair, Luis Halvorssen ’25. “This is my third year on the committee, and we never had a smoother Spring Fling.” The biggest stress? Headliner Swae Lee, scheduled to go on at 9:00 pm, arrived on campus at 9:05 and had a hard cutoff at 10:00, per a New Haven noise ordinance. But Halvorssen says all was well: “He got on at 9:09 and gave us 51 minutes, and no one cared about missing nine minutes.”

A footnote: we’re privileged to have DJ VNA, otherwise known as Annie Nguyen ’25, working in our office from time to time. Who knows? Maybe she’ll DJ for us.
