Curated by this year’s senior exhibit fellow, AJ Laird ’24, Whaling Logbooks provides a glimpse into the nineteenth- and twentieth-century whaling industry through navigational notes, weather reports, hand-drawn maps by captains, and more. Sailors’ journals, private letters, and ships’ contracts illuminate the lived experience of the seamen.
