Since 2009, leaders have gathered annually in New York City for Climate Week NYC, a series of hundreds of events to discuss climate change and its solutions. (The New York Times once called it “Burning Man for climate geeks.”) This year, Yale went all in, hosting the Yale @ Climate Week NYC summit, four days of talks and events at the Yale Club of New York City. Speakers included former secretary of state John Kerry ’66 (at right in photo with President Maurie McInnis ’96PhD and Jackson School dean Jim Levinsohn), US senator Sheldon Whitehouse ’78, climate investor Tom Steyer ’79, and writer Bill McKibben. The summit was convened by Yale Planetary Solutions, the university’s initiative to address climate change.
