The 2024 election resulted in a net loss of Yale alumni in the US Congress. Two alumnae were newly elected to the House of Representatives: Maggie Goodlander ’09, ’16JD (D-NH) and Kelly Morrison ’91 (D-MN). But Senator Sherrod Brown ’74 (D-OH) lost his bid for a fourth term, and Senator J. D. Vance ’13JD (R-OH) is leaving his seat to become vice president. Katie Porter ’96 (D-CA) left her seat in the House for an unsuccessful Senate run. Below is a list of Yale alumni in Congress and governor’s offices.
