Elis in the Trump administration

A vice president, a treasury secretary, and more.

Every four years, we list the Yale alums in the new presidential administration. Besides vice president J. D. Vance ’13JD, there is only one Yale graduate—Scott Bessent ’84—in a cabinet-level job in the second Trump White House, compared to four in the Biden administration and three in Trump’s first term. Vivek Ramaswamy ’13JD was appointed cochair of Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency, but he bowed out before Inauguration Day.
