Writer jumps from Globe to web

A ten-year run as film critic for a major daily newspaper, a Pulitzer Prize, and an illustrious career as class notes scrivener for the Yale Alumni Magazine: how do you top that?

If you're Wesley Morris ’97, you leave the old-media Boston Globe for a hot new-media property, ESPN's Grantland. Morris had already been contributing a style column to the sports-and-pop-culture website. Now he has joined the site full-time, writing about film and culture.

"I just didn't have a reason to say no any longer," Morris told The Root. With the departure of the Globe's longtime top editor, "things are changing. This seemed like a pretty good interval to try to think of things I wanted to do."
