Campus buried in nearly three feet of snowThings are pretty much shut down at Yale after last night's blizzard, which the state Department of Transportation says dropped 34.25 inches in snow on New Haven. The city has ordered drivers off the roads as workers try to dig out the streets with payloaders. The gym is closed, the museums are closed, the libraries are closed, dining halls have only limited service, and even walking is difficult because of the depth of the snow and the challenge of clearing it. In an e-mail to the university community this morning, vice president Linda Koch Lorimer ’77JD asked people not to venture outdoors "unless absolutely necessary." If ever there was a snow day, this is it. See lots more photos on our Facebook page.
