Women's crew pulls into NCAA tournamentNine a.m. is not early for crew athletes, who are accustomed to strenuous predawn workouts. So when the Yale varsity women's crew hits the water Friday morning at 9:10, they should be well-rested for the NCAA Championship. Yale faces the University of Southern California, Radcliffe, Washington State, and Oklahoma in the first of four Division I heats at Indianapolis's Eagle Creek Park. The top two finishers in each heat proceed straight to Saturday's semifinals. Everyone else races again on Friday afternoon. The grand final takes place on Sunday morning. This is the Bulldogs' 12th straight year in the NCAA Championship, which this year features an expanded field of 22 teams. Yale Sports Publicity has more.
