Coed sailing wins second straight national title

For the second straight year, the coed sailing team  claimed the national team championship this weekend with a victory at the APS Team Race National Championship at St. Mary’s City, Maryland. The No. 2 Bulldogs came in first place with a 22–3 record, safely ahead of St. Mary’s College of Maryland, who came in second with a record of 18–7. The coed team will begin competition today at the Gill Coed Dinghy National Championship.

In other sports news this week (information from Yale Sports Publicity):

The women’s sailing team faced tough racing conditions this past Thursday in Annapolis, Maryland, at the Sperry Top-Sider College Sailing Women’s National Championship. After competing neck and neck with Dartmouth’s Big Green, the team ultimately finished in second place, concluding their season.

Also this past weekend, the men’s lightweight crew took fourth place while the men’s heavyweight crew came in sixth at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships at West Windsor, New Jersey. The heavyweight crew still has one more race, and it's a big one: the 149th Yale-Harvard Regatta in New London on Saturday.
