Throwback Thursday: the mid-’90s move-off

Throwback Thursday: 20 years ago, writer David Leonhardt ’94 gave us the upshot on the new undergraduate trend toward living off campus. (That's Casey Greenfield ’95, ’07JD, pouring her own orange juice.) At the time, the proportion living off-campus had quickly risen from 10 percent to 15 percent; today, it's 17. Which did you prefer: on or off?

The Yale Alumni Magazine is published by Yale Alumni Publications Inc., an alumni-based nonprofit that is not run by Yale University. Its content does not necessarily reflect the views of the university administration.
