Tomorrow is the 150th anniversary of Lee’s surrender to Grant at Appamattox, which ended the American Civil War. Yale’s memorial to its alumni who died in the war was dedicated 100 years ago in Memorial Hall, the building between Commons and Woolsey Hall. It includes the names of both Union and Confederate soldiers, intermingled and organized by Yale class year. ___________________________________________ The Yale Alumni Magazine is published by Yale Alumni Publications Inc., an alumni-based nonprofit that is not run by Yale University.
