Find the wordsTake a second look at this photo. At first glance you see the familiar vertical concrete face of Yale’s architecture building, Paul Rudolph Hall. But there’s more. The clear plexiglass letters are a project by architecture students Lisa Albaugh, Charles Kane, and Andrew Sternad (all ’16MArch) called Between the Lines. For a typography class, the trio affixed the first verse of Pablo Neruda’s poem “Ode to Things” to the side of the building. “The content of the poem celebrates things built by hand,” the artists explain in their project statement, “used here in reference to the building's rough, bush-hammered concrete.”
