Above the entrance to the Kiphuth Trophy Room in Payne Whitney Gymnasium is a portrait of the room’s namesake—legendary swimming coach Robert Kiphuth (1890–1967)—and some of his assistants and swimmers. The group portrait was painted by Deane Keller ’23, ’26BFA, longtime art professor at Yale and World War II “monument man.”
