Anthony Campbell ’95, ’09MDiv, was officially sworn in as New Haven’s police chief yesterday by Mayor Toni Harp ’78MEnvD, as Campbell’s wife Stephanie Campbell ’96 (left) looked on. A 19-year veteran of the New Haven police, Campbell earned his master's from the Divinity School while working nights. At his swearing-in, Campbell described the recruiting ad on a New Haven bus that persuaded him to join the police: it read "Police others as you would have others police you.” Campbell said that “golden rule of policing” will guide his work as chief.
