Carm Cozza, 1930–2018

Carmen Louis Cozza, who was Yale’s head football coach from 1965 to 1996, died yesterday at age 87. One of his former players, Rich Diana ’82, summed him up in our November 1996 cover story: “He is kind, he is generous, he is a noble person. He's got a good soul. This is a coach you wanted to play for and grow up to be like.” A YaleNews obituary is here.
