Comfy classic

Those comfy chairs in the Haas Family Arts Library? They’re "Womb chairs” by architect Eero Saarinen ’34BFA, who designed them for the furniture maker Knoll in 1948. Client Florence Knoll Bassett asked for “a chair that was like a basket full of pillows—something she could really curl up in.” Bassett died last week at age 101.
