Today is the 75th anniversary of VE-Day, when German surrender in World War II was formally accepted by the Allied forces. “We have passed a milestone,” Yale president Charles Seymour said that day in a service in Woolsey Hall. “We shall continue without respite or relaxation until the complete race has been won.” Shown here: Naval ROTC cadets pass through the Memorial Gate on our May 1945 cover.
