Throwback Thursday: a monument to both sides

Recent talk about Confederate monuments sent us to our archives, where we found this photo of Yale’s Civil War Memorial at the time of its dedication in 1915. The memorial lists Yale students, faculty, and alumni who died in the war, organized by class year with no distinction between Union and Confederate soldiers.
