Happy 319th!

It was 319 years ago today that the Colony of Connecticut granted ten ministers a charter to erect a school “wherein Youth may be instructed in the Arts & Sciences who thorough the blessing of Almighty God may be fitted for Publick employment both in Church & Civil State.” We held on to the paperwork (above); it’s in the Beinecke Library.
