Decision time

After sorting through a record 46,905 applications, the Yale College admissions office sent offers to 2,169 potential members of the Class of 2025 earlier this month. Now it’s Yale’s turn to wait. Alums, do you remember how you decided to come to Yale?

I was all set to go to that other place. Then I stepped onto the New Haven Green. It was the day before the big Free Bobby Seale demonstration May 1970. Most of the colleges were open to the public. The students were buzzing all about, trying to prevent a riot. Protest signs, TV cameras, National Guard troops.
It was love at first sight.
