Throwback Thursday: precious stones

One hundred years ago in October, ox carts brought three millstones to campus to adorn the brand new Harkness Memorial Quadrangle. They came from three towns important to Yale's early history—Branford, Saybrook, and Killingworth—and they were installed in the courtyards named for those towns.
