Throwback Thursday: moving off

Fifty years ago, in our March 1972 issue, we wrote about the trend toward off-campus living among undergrads, including the unidentified students in this photo. At the time, the proportion of off-campus students had risen to 10 percent. The pre-pandemic figure for 2019–20 was 16 percent. Alums, did you ever live off campus? What did you like about it?
