Portrait of a changemaker

A portrait of Elga Wasserman ’76JD (1924–2014), who as a Yale administrator oversaw the introduction of women to Yale College in 1969, was unveiled earlier this month and now hangs in Bass Library. In the portrait by Brenda Zlamany, Wasserman is shown with an assortment of feminist texts; she is holding a copy of Sex and the Yale Student, the influential sex-education booklet that was distributed to Yale students for 20 years beginning in 1970.
