Conveying a composer

The music world celebrated the 150th anniversary of the birth of Charles Ives last fall, and a display of Ives-related artifacts from the Irving S. Gilmore Music Library is on display in Sterling Memorial Library. This horseshoe was worn by Ives's facetiously named horse Rocket, whom Ives would ride from his summer home in West Redding, Connecticut, to the train station for the commute to his insurance office in New York City.
