An active member of Upper Valley, New Hampshire, he performed with the Parish Players, founded the Light Opera of Norwich, served as a Selectman in Norwich, and was an active patron of Latham Library in Thetford Hill. Robert was an avid reader and deep thinker who was quick to voice his strong opinions on matters ranging from politics to the Bible, and backed those opinions with well-researched facts.
