In Remembrance: George William Soules ’60 Died on December 24 2013

George William Soules, who led a long career as a research mathematician, died on December 24, 2013. He was 76. After earning his bachelor's degree from UCLA in 1959, Soules attended Yale and the University of California, Berkeley before obtaining his doctorate in mathematics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. 

Soules began his career at Northrop Corporation in California, later moving to New Jersey to join the Institute for Defense Analyses, Center for Communications Research at Princeton University, where he served as deputy director for nine years. He also occasionally taught classes at Princeton and Rutgers University.
