ObituariesIn Remembrance: Myron Lecar ’63PhD Died on March 2 2014Myron Lecar, an accomplished astrophysicist, died on March 2, 2014. He was 81. After attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Case Institute of Technology, Lecar served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958, developing and teaching nuclear weapons technology and working on Project VANGUARD. He later studied astronomy at Yale, co-founded the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies at Columbia University, and eventually moved to the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory in 1965, where he stayed until retirement.
